Allow yourself some areas in life to be terrible at (or mediocre at least) since there’s no way to be the best at everything all the time. Be the OK cook, the do-the-minimum housecleaner, the one whose reports are barely adequate. This decision frees you from the guilt or whatever that takes up valuable mental and emotional energy. You can use that head space to focus on the areas that matter to you most.
