Everything we keep in the cloud is actually stored in servers that use a lot of electricity and water. The noise from these server farms adversely affect the (usually poor) people who live nearby. What can you do? Limit the data you store in the cloud. Cull it, download what you want to keep, and store the files (e.g., photos) on external hard drives. Here’s an article from Time to learn more.
