If you have ever shot off an angry email that you later deeply regretted, this one’s for you…
Casey’s eTip: Empty the To Line of an Angry Email
If you receive an email that makes your blood boil, hit Reply and then remove all email addresses from the To and Copy lines. Then go to town writing whatever irritated response you want. If you’re composing your vitriolic message from scratch, leave the To line blank. Once you’ve had your say, save the draft, go for a walk, maybe sleep on it. When you return to the email, you will probably edit it heavily or delete it altogether. Either way, you won’t have to apologize to anyone afterwards!
