The classic strategies are still the best:
* Use a strong passwords and change them regularly (apps can do this but they have their own risks)
* Don’t click on email links or attachments you weren’t expecting, even from trusted sources
* Avoid using public Wifi at all costs, including hotel Wifi that doesn’t require a personalized login
* Avoid answering Challenge questions with factual data (e.g., you can say your mother’s maiden name is “NeverMind” (This doesn’t work for any site that is running a credit check on you)
