Casey’s eTip: Say Yes to Yourself
Boundary-setting lets us “yes” to ourselves, meaning our needs, values, goals, passions, loved ones, most important work tasks, etc. As Brene Brown puts it (O Mag, 09/2013, p. 58), “Daring to set boundaries is about having the courage to love ourselves, even when we risk disappointing others.” One of her tips (and mine!) is to practice some phrases so that they come easily to your mind when the need arises.
