January is often the time for goal-setting. Here’s an approach that might benefit you and your team…
Casey’s eTip: Set CLEAR Goals This Year
You are probably familiar with some variation of SMART goal-setting. It means making goals Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-oriented. This acronym can be helpful but it does leave off some elements that fuel goal implementation, especially for neurodivergent people.

That’s where CLEAR goals come in. In this approach, you set goals that are:
Collaborative (since almost every goal is)
Limited (e.g., by time and practicality)
Emotional (e.g., inspiring)
Appreciable (where progress can be measured along the way) and
Refinable (adjustable as circumstances require). Make your quarterly and annual goals CLEAR and see how it works.
