Pause and breathe as you contemplate a task. Feel the sensations in your body and allow them to be. Then identify what you might need in the moment: A tiny sense of self-compassion? A little inner reassurance that you’ll be OK no matter what? Forgiveness for previous delays? By meeting the need that your emotion signals, you clear the path to move into action with that task.
